After Tiger Mountain, Ted thought Olympic would be a good area to pick. He originally looked at Mount Rose, a 7.6 hike with a grueling 3,553 elevation gain. I was not enthusiastic on the elevation gain and we agreed on Lower Lena Lake. Our friend Bob joined us for 7 mile hike with 1,630 elevation gain in the peninsula and Olympic Mountains.

This was a fun hike, boulders, streams, mountain views, a lake and most importantly a gentle incline and decline. As we reached the summit in 1.5 hours, Bob asked if we wanted to stop at Hama Hama's on the way back.... hmmm we said... hmmmm.
Since our hike didn't take as long as we had thought, our friend Bob recommended stopping at Hama Hama Oysters (which is both a restaurant/farm and type of oyster) on our way back, he promised us that they had "other" food as well. But we were troopers and tired oysters for the first time! We learned that oysters are best during the months with the letter "R" in them and that in the state of Washington you can get a fishing permit for $15 and harvest your own oysters. I don't care for prepacked yogurt with fruit because of it's soggy and slimly texture. Bob thought this was going to be an interesting experience... so here are our thoughts!
Good to see that the "Starck Rocket Pace" hasn't slowed down at all. Gorgeous hike!
Glad you both were brave and tried the oysters. I recall my first experience and there is much trepidation going in. Great work!
